Mystery Jets played a gig in the afternoon sunshine at Glastonbury this afternoon (June 29), starting an '80s-style pop party on Worthy Farm.
The band arrived on the Park Stage at 4.40pm (BST) wearing '80s-style jackets and launched into 'Hideaway', playing to a packed-out crowd including Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, who watched the band from the side of the stage..
The opening song was nearly scuppered as a drum machine playing a beat out of time with the song went off, but the problem was soon fixed and the band finished the song without further drama.
The Eel Pie Island band played recent single 'Two Doors Down' three songs into the set, prompting mass dancing and singing along from the busy crowd.
Many of the audience had brought flags along with then, with a vast array of designs on show.
As well as the Brazillian and Welsh national flags, those present included one with the phrase "I love Hackney" written on it, another with the peace sign adorning it, while one white flag boasted a drawing of former footballer Peter Beardsley's face on it.
"I think this is possibly the best place on earth," said guitarist Willam Rees after finishing 'Two Doors Down'. "Good fun, not bad fun, I mean," he added.
During 'Flakes' Rees and bassist Kai Fish sat down together with their legs hanging down in the photopit as a large inflatable football bounced around in front of them. Later in the set Rees booted the ball back into the audience after it was hit towards him.
Towards the end of the set Laura Marling, set to play her own gig later on at The Park area, joined the band on vocal duties for recent single 'Young Love'.
As the song was being played the first spots of rain of the day began to fall on the crowd as grey clouds loomed overhead. However, the rain just about held off and there was no need for the audience to haul out their waterproof coats.
The band ended their set with 'Behind The Bun House', playing to a thankfully still-dry Park Stage crowd.
